Metaphysics, Friendships and Technology
A path to a sustainable human future in space—and on Earth.
Hi, I’m BD. I write about transformation—personal, industrial, and planetary.
My work spans from advanced manufacturing labs in the Rust Belt to reusable satellites in orbit. I’m currently pursuing a doctorate in Space Systems and Product Innovation, researching how to enable circularity in aerospace, defense, and the manufacturing industries.
Why? Because sustainability isn’t just about the environment—it’s about survival. It’s about prosperity. It’s about building resilient systems that serve people.
I’m obsessed with empowerment and the mindful use of resources. I challenge the status quo, build bridges between disciplines, and develop tools that help others thrive.
That’s why I launched the Space Literacy Alliance—to train millions to understand space missions and to build solutions with real impact.
At my company Astromerge, we advise organizations entering space and help top talent start space ventures or careers. This work excites me because it blends engineering, education, and ethics.
On this Substack, I’ll share my thinking, projects, and effective practices, from sustainable-by-default product designs, advancements in manufacturing, to “Build-that-Builders” needed to reindustrialize the American heartland and beyond.

This is about building a future in space, with a better Earth in mind.
